builder-owner award bauherr*innenpreis on the road
all projects awarded with the 2022 builder-owner award bauherr*innenpreis will be presented in an exhibition. the exhibition can be found at the house of architecture in graz from 09/13/2023until 10/07/2023.
at the opening on 09/13/2023, from 7:00 PM, sandra sindler-larsson and jakob dunkl will present our IKEA vienna westbahnhof, which was also awarded.
"the builder-owner award bauherr*innenpreis was awarded for the first time in 1967 by the central association of architects and is unique in its orientation. it is not the architects who are honored, but the special commitment, courage and creativity of the builders. the prize shows the common search for qualities in architecture, open space design and urban planning solutions. the 18 projects nominated and awarded in 2022 show an indispensable contribution to building culture in austria.
the 2022 bauherr*innenpreis reflects the current socio-political discussion: many of the submissions are about building in existing structures. it is also and especially important to use existing resources in planning and building. renovation and adaptation offer space for creative solutions."
