vienna housing award for HAK
our HAK municipality housing at vienna's handelskai was named best new municipality housing building by wohnfonds wien, the city of vienna's housing fund, at the 2024 vienna housing award. the award ceremony took place on 06/06/2024 as part of a festive evening event at vienna city hall where peter sapp and zsuzsanna takacsy accepted the award.
the jury explained the award as follows: “the project shows in a particularly impressive way how the potential for redensification of existing residential complexes can be exploited in an innovative way to create good housing even in extremely difficult locations. the redesign of the garage deck into a garden deck and the fact that the view of the danube was not only considered in the new buildings, but also remains guaranteed for the existing apartments, is particularly impressive.”
